From Jed Sky:
A ‘rock video’ wasn’t the initial intention. One clip on a rock that didn’t fit into a video project sat dormant next to another on a hard drive. Soon a third and a fourth accumulated. Maybe it was around the fifth that the idea began to form. This small idea grew into a small passion project.
I’ve always liked seeing the rare rock clip. It blends all-mountain and backcountry terrain with the feeling of jibbing and trick selection usually found in city streets. For me, this creates a unique aesthetic, appeal, and creative space.
I never had much expectations for the final result. To me, the process and pursuit was the highlight. Trying to expand, search for spots in the dynamic mountain environment, and seeing what is possible was the most fun part. The hardest part was trying to get other people to jib rocks with me. To my surprise, nobody wanted to hit a rock. I would’ve loved a whole ‘friend’ section of the video… I’m very stoked to have at least one Brandon clip. Thanks Brandon!
& thank you to all the other friends I’m lucky enough to have help me pursue this obsession. Sam Tuor, Kyle Murray, Ryan Finder, and the biggest thanks to John Blume for helping me make these small dreams come true, one rock slap at a time.
I hope you enjoy and maybe even get inspired to hop on some rock. Rock on homies!!!!
