May 3rd, 2024 is a day that will forever be etched in the annals of riding history as nearly 100 of the best senders in snowboarding strapped in atop the Sierra’s to test their skills and courage against a three-story tall transition that was both immaculately shaped and overtly intimidating. Past World Quarterpipe Champions like Raibu Katayama, Bode Merrill, Brandon Davis, and Brook D’Hondt traded tricks with first-time WQP contenders like Joey Okesson, Zoi Sadowski-Synnott, Kennedi Deck, and Lyon Farrell. By the time the lifts had closed and the storm clouds had rolled in, Mammoth Mountain, California had erupted in a wave of adulation and stoke as Ellie Weiler and Valentino Gusili were coronated as the 2024 World Quarterpipe Champions alongside Shannon Dunn and Raibu Katayama as the newest recipients of the Nixon “Best Time” award.
The 2024 Slush World Quarterpipe Championships were made possible with generous support from Mammoth Mountain, The Ikon Pass, Skullcandy, Sun Bum and Nixon.
